I wanted a Cobra since I was a fifteen year old tenth grader in 1965. Couldn't talk Dad into buying one. I have owned my share of sports cars, but the Cobra was the one I wanted most. As time went by they got out of my price range. I had pretty much given up on the dream. Superformance made the dream come true. My wife Stella has been hearing about Cobras from me forever. When I found the perfect car in Richmond, VA she was very supportive. In fact we flew to Richmond on one way tickets (the owner didn't know that) intending to by the car. We had lunch with the owner (Gus Fulleborn) and his wife, handed him a check and headed for the Blue Ridge Parkway to drive home. It was November, chilly and pretty deserted. It occurred to me that if this "previously owned" car failed and left us stranded in this remote, cold place after writing a big check, Stella would give me the "you are an idiot" look. In fact, we had the time of our lives driving home. A Cobra on the Blue Ridge Parkway - does not get any better. My Superformance puts a smile on my face every time I am around it. Don't even have to drive it to get the smile. It has 17,000 miles on it now. It is the one car I cannot imagine ever selling. I wonder how many miles I can rack up before I have to hang up my keys. An unexpected bonus has been SCOF. The other members were so helpful to me when I was learning the ropes. They continue to be the greatest.
