I had an opportunity to drive an original Cobra in 1971 while in Dental School in Detroit. Made my Sunbeam Tiger feel anemic. Knew I would eventually own one for myself. Researched a number of makes, ERA, Backdraft as well as a continuation Shelby. Hands down the Superformance was the way to go. I was pricing out a new roller from Dynamic in Ohio, when I met Keith Hall and found that his car was available. The exact color and engine combination I was pricing out. The car was meticulously maintained with 9,000 mi. and completely sorted out. Though my garage houses my 67 Tiger, 67 427/435hp Corvette Convertible and 1971 XKE roadster, the Cobra goes out 95% of the time. Put 5000 miles on in the last 14 months. I anticipate taking the car on a cross country jaunt next fall to our home in Marco Island Florida, to enjoy the Cobra all winter long. The car is as reliable and any of my modern rides. I drive it everywhere, from the grocery store to the track. A S uperformance Cobra will put a smile on your face that a plastic surgeon won't be able to remove. Best purchase I ever made. SCOF provides an incredible knowledge base for the owners as well as planning a number of "Not to miss" events each year. Live the dream.
