Superformance 427 Cobra Mk-III S/C (used)   #2551

Superformance chassis sp-2551 left the factory on February 22, 2007 and was shipped to Legendary Motorsports painted in Galaxy Blue, and I had the dealer paint the white stripes. This is a low mileage car with
only 1,255 miles. This car was my "Friday night summer cruise to the Sonic" car to hang out with friends then get some ice cream on the way home. Sadly our group has lost most of the attendees. This car is in excellent condition with no issues. The all aluminum Carroll Shelby FE side oiler engine is stroked to 482 cubic inches and estimated over 600 h.p. as spec'd by Shelby. Two holley 750 vacuum carbs rest on top of the Dove tunnel wedge style intake. All major engine components were purchased from Carroll Shelby and assembled by myself (*see notation below). Valve springs were replaced in July 2026 just as a precaution and make sure everything is in tip-top condition. Powder coated headers feeding the Firefly Stainless Steel side pipes with high flow cores sets the exhaust free. The transmission is a 5 speed Tremec TKO-600 with a .64 overdrive, topped off with a Pro 5.0 short throw Shifter and filled with Cobra Valley Ultra Shift transmission Fluid. Cobra Valley R/T upper and lower Geometry Correction Ball joints smooth the steering and stabilize the car at high speeds while the Cobra Valley R/T upper rear shock mount upgrade holds up the back . Cobra Valley high output Tri-Light headlamp housings with Lightning White bulbs turns on the sun during late night drivers, and the Battery ground cable upgrade was performed as per SCOF tech library. The Factory permanent adhesive on the tunnel has been remove and resealed with foam strip material for lightning quick and easier top side transmission and clutch servicing if needed as per SCOF tech library upgrade. The speedometer was calibrated by Nisonger instruments and a chrome Halon fire extinguisher protects the cockpit.

Engine Notation: I began my engine building career in the early 1980's and was coached by a local racer that ran in the NHRA. I worked on Mike Troxel's Top Alcohol dragster for a number of years. I've have built Ford center oiler and side oiler FE engines as well as Genesis, Robert Pond, and Shelby blocks as long lasting street performance engines. I have owned 10 Mustangs and Cougars and built engines for each one. The Shelby block is manufactured with lots of strengths put into the bottom end. The main caps fit really tight eliminating any movement and the head studs go deep into the main webbing, pulling from the strongest part of the block. Shelby Aluminum 427 82cc heads patterned off Ford medium riser heads give a gas pump friendly 10.5:1 compression with Arias 4.250 bore flat top pistons with a 10.83 cc dish surrounded by Total seal file fit rings. Pistons were custom made for Shelby and has the Shelby signature insignia inside of them. Eagle CRS66353D H beam connecting rods cradle the Scat 4.250" stroke forged steel crank. The Crower 290R mechanical roller cam has 649"/.655" I/E lift and 248/254 degree I/E duration @ .050 with a 108 degree lobe separation and has a notable lopey racey idle while still being fun on the street.
